HTTPS Provisioning

Modified on Sun, 22 Dec, 2024 at 8:04 PM

We are in the process of transitioning our device provisioning authentication method to utilize HTTPS (SSL/mTLS) rather than HTTP to send the configuration file.

Why HTTPS?

HTTPS, a recognized standard in our industry, utilizes data encryption to automatically verify that each device connected to the network is displaying the correct encryption key. As a result, HTTPS-supported devices will no longer require admins to reset the encryption key. Overall, it's more secure than HTTP and will provide a smoother customer experience.

What Do I Need to Do?

Nothing. We are updating our provisioning service, adpm.co, to redirect to the new provisioning server, so you do not need to update the provisioning URL on your end.

However, if you have a firewall rule in place for the device provisioning IP addresses, be sure that port 443 outbound is open and allowed for devices, or provisioning will fail for these devices following this release.

Please note, we cannot enable HTTPS provisioning on Poly VVX x00, x01, x10 x11, x50 devices at this time. If this changes, we will let you know.
