In the Admin Portal, IP phones automatically show how many lines are available to a device, how they're assigned, and which are presently not in use. For your ATA devices, routers, and everything in between, follow the steps below.
- Go to Account > Devices.
- Scroll down to the device and click Edit. If the device hasn't been added yet, see Add Device.
- Under Line Configuration, click [+ Add Line], then fill out the following fields.
You cannot add more lines than the device can support. The [+ Add Line] button will be grayed out if there are no more lines that can be added to the device).
Field | Description |
---|---|
Owner | Select a user on the account to be the owner of this line. |
Line Number | Enter a line number. This will be prepopulated with the next available line. |
Line Name | Enter a name for the line. This will be prepopulated with a name based on the next available line. |
911 Callback Number | Assign a number that emergency services will be able to reach if an 911 call is disconnected. |
Advanced Line Settings (Optional)
Fax Enabled | Check this box if the line is connected to a fax machine. |
Generate New Password | Click to generate a password. |
SIP Password | Or enter a SIP password manually. |

The new line will then be shown in the Line Assignments section.
