This information is automatically provided to dispatchers when this number dials emergency services.
The E911 address allows emergency services to determine the location of each phone or device in case they need to call 911. It does not have to be the same as the address listed in the Customer Service Record.
The registered address must be the physical address where the device is located and include any additional information (such as a suite, apartment, building, etc.) necessary to identify the caller's location. These supplementary fields are available in the Manual Entry section.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Same as customer service record (Optional) | Check this box to indicate the information for E911 records is the same as the Customer Service Record (CSR) above. If the information is different, make sure this box is unchecked, and fill out the fields below. (Optional) |
Use existing record (Optional) | To populate the CSR with the name and caller ID information that’s already being used on another phone number on the account, expand Use Existing Record and select the record you want to use. Skip this step to create a new record. |
Individual or Company | Select a tab to indicate if this record is for an individual or a company. This option is only available when adding a phone number to the account. |
Name | The first and last name of the individual or the name of the company this number is assigned to. |
Postal code | The postal code of the address. This will narrow the addresses that populate as you type below. |
Enter address | The address associated with the phone number. Start typing an address and options will populate below. Select the correct address. |
Manual entry | If you want to manually enter the address in a granular format, click here. For example, if the address is for a multi-unit building, you can add the Unit Type and Unit Number here. These fields will automatically populate with the information previously provided and are optional unless otherwise indicated. |
Provide lat/long | Lat/long is used with the address to determine the PSAP responsible for receiving a 911 call. Check this box to enter the coordinates for the address, if necessary. It does not have to be the same as the CSR address. |
Lat/long confirms only what PSAP the 911 call should be routed to. First responders will not show up at the exact coordinates you have associated with the phone number.
