Local Phone Number Inventory

Modified on Thu, 19 Dec, 2024 at 10:37 AM

Important

As of March 2024, local phone number inventory is being phased out in favor of dynamic inventory, which provides real-time phone number search and reservation functionality. To benefit from these enhancements, we recommend that you switch over to dynamic inventory as soon as possible.

If you have an OSS/BSS integration, such as GLDS or NISC, talk to your Customer Success Manager about how these changes may impact your processes.

Stay on top of your inventory of phone numbers by exporting the data, listing everyone that needs to stay up to date on changes, manage the number of temporary numbers on a partition, and more.

Management Inventory Overview

FieldDescription
Export Data
Click the [Export] button to download a .csv file containing a list of all the phone numbers currently available in your partition's inventory.
Notification RecipientsEnter one or more email addresses separated by commas. These recipients will be notified when the inventory is low and needs to be replenished.
Temporary Number ThresholdIf you use temporary numbers in your porting process, this is the threshold at which we'll add more temporary numbers.
Export DataClick the [Export] button to download a .csv file containing information on rate centers and inventory thresholds.
Import File

After saving the information described in the .csv file that has been Exported (see above), use this field and the [Import] button to import the new information back into the Admin Portal.

If you're requesting phone numbers for a new rate center or updating the inventory levels for an existing rate center, locate the rate center in the downloaded spreadsheet. Add the quantity of numbers you need in the Desired Inventory column, and add the reorder threshold in the Reorder Threshold column. Once inventory levels for this rate center drops below the reorder threshold it will submitted  a new order request.

Only the first four columns in the file will be imported, all others are ignored.

Inventory Notifications

Our system checks the Phone Number Inventory spreadsheet every Wednesday morning. Notifications are sent when the number in Available (column E) drops below the Reorder Threshold (column D) for any given rate center. The Desired Inventory (column C) tells the system how many to order.

(Available ‑ Reorder Threshold) + Desired Inventory = how many will be replenished

In the example below, Aberdeen's Reorder Threshold is 10 and Available Numbers has dipped to 5. Since Desired Inventory is set at 15, a notification would be sent indicating that 10 numbers are being replenished to bring the Available column up to the Desired Inventory column.
