Voice Portal Custom Branding Steps

Modified on Tue, 24 Dec, 2024 at 11:07 PM

Offer your customers a fully branded experience.

Custom branding allows you to use your own domain so you can offer your customers a fully branded experience and never have to explain to a customer Cymbus is. Custom branding requires additional steps to add two sets of CNAME records to your domain's DNS so we publish the portal on your domain and secure the connection with an SSL certificate.

Looking for an alternative? See Voice Portal Branding Options to compare your options.

What We Need from You

When you're ready to brand your end user portal, your Project Manager or Customer Success Manager will send you the link to a Smartsheet where you can enter your branding details and upload your images for the Voice Portal (UC app branding is entirely separate). The team will then apply your branding specifications to your account and send you the next steps.

All of your branding details can be modified later except for the hostname. Because branding is tied to your domain's DNS, the hostname cannot be modified later without starting this process all over again.

InformationDescription
Contact emailThe email address of the person who will work with us to set up branding on your domain. This person must have access to their domain’s DNS settings or work with someone who does.
Help desk URL
The URL you want end users to access for customer support. This is linked to from an mceclip0.png icon in the top right corner of the portal. If this is blank, the icon will not appear in the Voice Portal.
HostnameThe subdomain + domain that will direct users to your branded Voice Portal (such as portal.serviceprovider.com).
- You can use any top-level domain that you own.
  - "User" is not required to be a part of the URL.
Portal title
The title of the end user portal which will be displayed in the web browser tab and in emails. For example, "TeleCom Voice Portal."
Product name
The name of your UC app, which will be used in emails. For example, "Download the TeleCom UC app here."
FaviconPNG, 32x32 pixels. If one is not provided, it will default to this icon: Favicon_Default.png
LogoPNG, 400x200 pixels. The logo is used in the portal header and in the login dialog. We recommend using a transparent background so the logo sits cleanly on top of the header color.
Header colorThe hex color used at the top of the Voice Portal.
Action colorThe hex color used for actions and buttons.
Link colorThe hex color used for links.
From address

The email address all system-generated emails for this account will be sent from.

This email address must use the same hostname that is authorized in the branding. For example, if the hostname is portal.serviceprovider.com, the email must be something like noreply@portal.serviceprovider.com. It cannot be noreply@serviceprovider.com.

Email bannerJPEG, 600x72 pixels. This image displayed at the top of each system-generated email.
Email signatureThe signature on all system-generated emails.
App download URL

The URL for the page on your website where end users can download your branded softphone apps. The URL is included on the Welcome email that is sent to all new users. It is NOT a direct file hosting location for a particular application.

The app download URL is hosted by you.

Size matters! The favicon, logo, and email banner must be exactly the right size and type or they may be rejected. The logo can be larger but must be perfectly proportional. If necessary, use a free program online to resize your images, like Paint.net or Pixlr.
